One of the most interesting facts about England is, The Queen is the fifth longest serving British monarch. Only four other kings and queens in British history have reigned for 50 years or more. These are:

Tony Blair is the first Prime Minister to have been born during The Queen's reign. He was born in early May, 1953 - a month before the Coronation. Facts about England show that The Queen is currently patron of 620 charities and organizations, 433 of which she has held since 1952. An important fact about England, during The Queen's reign was the opening in 1962 of a new gallery at Buckingham Palace to display items from the Royal Collection. The brainchild of The Duke of Edinburgh, the new Queen's Gallery occupied the space of the Palace's bomb-damaged private chapel. It was the first time that parts of the Palace had been opened to the general public. The new Queen's Gallery has been redeveloped, and is welcoming visitors in for a look.

In 1969 the first television film about the family life of the Royal Family was made, and shown on the eve of the Investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales. This was viewed by millions. Prince Charles, later married Diana at the palace, and the wedding was seen live on television in hundreds of countries. Sadly, Princess Diana's funeral was also televised.

Lately a fact about England that needs the most focus is terrorism. Just recently terrorists bombed four different areas of England the same day. Including the subway system, and one England's famous "Double Decker Bus's". Injuring hundreds and killing 52. This was said to have been the biggest crime scene in England's history and a fact about England that the world cannot deny. Terrorism concerns have affected us all, and now it's England's turn to improve their homeland security, and the Prime Minister is doing everything he can to help.
